A Ship Full Of Laughs
by The Baby Seals

Wednesday Feb 10th - Friday Feb 12th
@ 9.30pm

Price: $15

Bookings: At the venue, Moshtix or
Festival Hub Box Office.

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful ship...

You are about to take the cruise of a lifetime, whilst sitting comfortably in Violet Tears (so no need to worry about getting sea sick all over the poop deck!). Join Melbourne's most exciting new improv team, The Baby Seals, for an unchartered concept – improv at sea.

It's The Love Boat meets The Poseidon Adventure! An odessey of Titanic proportions where you steer the ship. Will you see an action plot that puts Steven Seagal's Under Seige to shame (which isn't setting the bar very high, really), or an epic disaster where you choose who lives and who dies?

Or will there be a cameo appearance from a celebrity sea creature – Moby Dick, the shark from Jaws or Harold Holt?! As is always the case with improv, you decide.

Every show is unique but we do guarantee mystery; perhaps there'll be a secret cargo on board or someone has something to hide. Hilarity will ensue: You'll laugh till you're sea sick!

“Any damn fool can navigate the world. It takes a really good sailor to do it drunk.” - Sir Francis Chichester (1st solo around-the-world sailor).

Balance Of Power
by Lynn Williams &
Tom Middlebrook

Sunday Feb 7th - Thursday Feb 11th
@ 7.00pm

Price: $15

Bookings: At the venue, Moshtix or
Festival Hub Box Office.

This is a tale of "Corporate trash" meets "regular trash".

She’s the bitch, masquerading as a clone of conformity that will step on her own parents to get to the top! He’s the bum who wants to start a revolution but can’t remember where his drink is!

Everyone has a story to tell and these stories could fill endless pages but who has the patience to ever look past the cover?

Lynn Williams and Tom Middlebrook present audiences with a cheat’s guide to this book review which provides a quirky glimpse into a disturbingly familiar world told through a combination of sketches and stand-up.

In a satirical and cynical poke at the divides of society, judgmental stones are cast from both sides of the coin of idealism.

Down with the corporate clone of conformity and their bigoted ways. Down with the unemployed messes and their idealistic crap.

Hang on. They can’t both be so right, or wrong, can they?

Relying on quick repartee and razor sharp insights, both sides challenge long-held views on issues we all take so much for granted. Their arrogance, hypocrisy and disillusionment collide to create a kaleidoscope of crazy new and surprisingly logical paradigms.

Curious
by Michael Tancredi

Michael Tancredi is curious about stuff. Journey with him as he explores those day-to-day occurrences we can all relate to.

It’s the way we may behave in different situations, people’s reactions to things, feelings and emotions. Curiosity is wanting to know why things are the way they are?

Four In One
by Tom Middlebrook

Thursday Feb 4th - Saturday 13th Feb @ 7.00pm

Price: $15

Bookings: At the venue, Moshtix or
Festival Hub Box Office.

Tom Middlebrook was raised on religion, studied theoretical physics and taken more drugs than the average bear. This year he performs 4 shows over 8 nights, giving lovers of intellectual comedy the opportunity to see fresh material every night.

In Weird Science Tom examines religion and science. For Reality Smites he attempts to come to terms with reality after having distorted it for a long period. And Stranger than Fiction sees Tom delve into the bizarre world of conspiracy theories.

God on drugs? Imaginary trips to Mexico? Shape-shifting lizards running the world? In Balance of Power, he performs alongside Lynn Williams in a show where corporate trash meets  regular trash as both sides malign, disregard or perhaps even respect one another in this satirical, cynical poke at the divides of society.
